The Sew Crafty Blog

Are you ready for BRAtober?

Posted by Sarah on Aug 18, 2010

Sew Crafty is partnering with Charity Chicks Houston on their BRA ART contest raising money and awareness for Bright Pink, a non-profit for young women at high risk for breast and ovarian cancer.

We understand that not everyone has the crafty abilities of Martha Stewart, that’s why Sew Crafty is stepping in and helping the men, women and children of Houston get their craft on…with a bit of advice and guidance if needed.
For those who need some help getting creative with their bra, join us on September 10th from 6 - 8 p.m. for a BRA ART decorating party! Food and drinks will be provided, but please bring your bra and any special materials to make it a work of art!

Just need a quiet place to work? Every Sunday in September until the 19th, Sew Crafty will be offering free space from noon - 6 p.m. to work on your project! Bring your supplies, your bra (of course!) and a friend so you can socialize, sew and craft the heck out of your creation. Just drop on in and see the front desk for details!

So sign up for BRA ART here http://www.charitychickshouston.com/bra-art.html, go buy a brand new (cheap) bra and come to Sew Craft with friends and ideas.  Bring your glitter, your glue and your glam…whatever you see fit.

It’s all for a good cause!  This is a great way to meet new folks in Houston, raise money for a worthwhile cause and put your creativity you never knew you had to work!

Sew Crafty is located at
321-B 19th St.
Houston, TX 77008
(713) 863-1144

BRA ART is due Sept 19th to be eligible for the top 50 to be displayed at BRAtober.  Tickets for BRAtober are $30 in advance and $40 at the door. http://www.charitychickshouston.com/bratober.html
